International Workshop on Satellite and Space Communications 2008 (IWSSC'08)

The objective of this workshop isThe objective of this workshop is to provide a forum for researchers and technologists to present new ideas and contributions in the form of technical papers, panel discussions and tutorials of ideas in the field of satellite communications. It is intended to bring together various satellite communication systems developers to discuss the current status, technical challenges, standards, fundamental issues, and future services and applications.

IWSSC 2008 seeks seeks to address and capture highly innovative and state of the art research from the satellite communications industry. The scope of the workshop includes a wide range of technical challenges in view of the growing interest for satellite networks, multi-media and broadband access to satellite communication systems, the evolution of future satellite communications with access across hybrid platforms, the direct mobile access to satellites, the use of fade countermeasures and the integration with radio resource management.

4th Advanced Satellite Mobile Systems Conference (ASMS'08)

The 4th Advanced Satellite Mobile Systems Conference is organized by the University of Bologna and the Institute for Communications and Navigation of DLR on behalf of the ISI (Integral SatCom Initiative) European Technology Platform and in cooperation with the Satellite Communications Network of Excellence (SatNEx). Building on the previous successful ASMS events, this conference has now become a paramount opportunity for industry and research institutions to get the latest updates and to exchange information about recent advances and emerging technologies for mobile, broadband and broadcast satellite communication systems.

4th SatNEx Summer School

The SatNEx Network of Excellence is pleased to announce the fourth annual International SatNEx Summer School 2008.
The Summer School has quickly established itself as one of the flagship events for SatNEx education and training.

This year, the summer school is hosted again by the Institute of Information Science and Technologies (ISTI), an institute of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), Italy, and it will take place from July 28th to August 1st 2008.

It is intended to bring together various satellite communication systems developers to discuss the current status, technical challenges, standards, fundamental issues, and future services and applications.

IWSSC 2007 seeks to address and capture highly innovative and state of the art research from the satellite communications industry. The scope of the workshop includes a wide range of technical challenges in view of the growing interest for satellite access to Internet, multi-media and broadband access to satellite communication systems, the evolution of future satellite communications with access across hybrid platforms, the definition of a cross-layer design for improving the efficiency and the performance of the air interface.

First CNES Workshop on GALILEO Signals and Signal Processing

The aim of this workshop is to provide an overview of the GALILEO Signal definition, characteristics and performances related to any of the L-band navigation services. The use of GALILEO signals for space navigation and timing, science applications like radiooccultation for meteorology or ionospheric observations for instance, or geodesy, mass market and 3 frequencies aeronautical applications will be considered. The selected papers will mainly focus on signal processing aspects. The Workshop is free of charge.
3rd CNES Workshop on Earth-Space Propagation

Where? IAS (Institut Aero Spatial) Toulouse, France
The aim of this workshop is to provide an overview of the propagation phenomena affecting any Earth to space or space to Earth radio link and to depict the various techniques used to mitigate these phenomena. The workshop will provide an open-forum for sharing technical experiences and points of view between each participants from the satellite designers to the space agencies including universities, laboratories and providers. The workshop will be organised around a single session with oral presentations and panel discussions.

The Workshop is free of charge.

The registration deadline is the 11th September 2006.

This year, the summer school is hosted by the Department of Computer Sciences of the University of Salzburg, Austria, and takes place from 21st to 25th August 2006.

Registration is open until August 6th, 2006. The Summer School is free of charge.
